Heather Alger, PhD, MPH has a diverse range of work experience spanning various roles and companies. Currently, they are the Senior Director of Clinical Development at both Anumana, Inc. and nference. Previously, they worked at the American Heart Association in roles such as National Director of Data Solutions & Research, National Director of Research Bioinformatics, National Director of Product Development, and Senior Science & Medicine Advisor. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Science at the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States and as a Senior Associate at The Pew Charitable Trusts. Heather also has experience as a Freelance Scientific Editor and as a Post Doctoral Research Associate at Children's National Medical Center. Heather began their career as a Laboratory Technician at Baylor College of Medicine and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Illinois State University. Heather's work experience demonstrates their expertise in clinical development, research, data solutions, product development, and science and medicine advising.

Heather Alger, PhD MPH, holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Illinois State University. Heather pursued their higher education at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where they obtained a Doctorate degree with a focus on Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Lipid Sciences, and Pathology. Continuing their academic journey, they recently completed a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Additionally, they have also attended The 42nd Ten-Day Seminar on the Epidemiology & Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease as a Fellow in Epidemiology.
