Akima A. Brown, MFA, CES, is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the arts, education, and social change. As the Founder of Reel Families for Change since September 2020, Akima leads initiatives to engage filmmaking parents and their supporters in important social dialogues. Involvement as a Founding Member of nFormation began in July 2021, complementing a long-standing role as a Producer, Screenwriter, Production Consultant, and Social Entrepreneur at BTG Multimedia Group since 2008. Previous positions include Special Assignments & Project Manager at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Special Projects Assistant to the CEO at Buchanan Aerospace, and Program Manager at ArtsConnection, Inc. Akima holds a B.A. in Political Science from Spelman College, a MAT in Education from Emory University, and an MFA in Script/Screenwriting from Regent University, along with additional educational studies at Emory University and Cornell University.
