Owen Smart

Owen Smart is an Actuarial Trainee at NFU Mutual since September 2023. Prior experience includes serving as an Acquisition Associate at RiverStone International, where key models for acquisitions were designed, built, and tested, including calculations for solvency capital ratios and price sensitivity tests. In the summer of 2021, Owen worked as a Savoury Chef at Real Patisserie Ltd, quickly gaining responsibility for kitchen operations in a busy takeaway cafe. Additionally, from September 2018 to March 2020, Owen served as a Sports Referee for The Football Association, demonstrating strong people management skills and officiating the Sussex Sunday Youth League KO Cup final. Owen holds a degree in Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics, and Economics (MORSE) from the University of Warwick, completed in 2023, and attended BHASVIC and Dorothy Stringer Secondary School prior to university.
