Laboratory Supervisor, Advance Testing at NGI - Norwegian Geotechnical Institute

Diego R. Maldonado, P.E. is currently a Laboratory Engineer at NGI - Norwegian Geotechnical Institute since April 2024. Prior to this role, Diego held various positions at Fugro, including Team Leader for Advanced Testing and Engineer II, where responsibilities included processing test data, supervising geotechnical laboratory testing, and ensuring compliance with ASTM international standards. Diego has also contributed to the development of frost heave test equipment and calibrated instruments to maintain ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation. Earlier experience includes positions such as Research Assistant at the Institute of Engineering at UNAM and Environmental, Health and Safety Engineer at Consorcio AUTOSUR. Diego holds a Master’s Degree in Water Quality and Wastewater Treatment from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from Universidad de La Salle.
