Dieter Issler

Dieter Issler is a highly experienced specialist in the field of geotechnics and natural hazards, currently serving as a Senior Specialist at Norges Geotekniske Institutt since January 2007, focusing on research related to gravity mass flows, including snow and rock avalanches. Previously, Dieter owned NaDesCoR Naturgefahrenberatung D. Issler, where consulting services and research were provided on natural hazards from April 2000 to December 2006. From October 1990 to March 2000, Dieter conducted research on snow avalanche dynamics at the Swiss Federal Institute for Snow & Avalanche Research, developing numerical models SL-3D and SL-1D. Earlier commitments include postdoctoral fellowships at Stanford Linear Accelerator Center and the Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Berne, focusing on Chiral Perturbation Theory. Dieter holds a PhD in Physics from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as diplomas in Physics and Theoretical Physics from ETH Zürich.
