Nallathamby Sivasithamparam, known as Siva, is an experienced geomechanics researcher currently working at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI) since May 2013, specializing in Computational Geomechanics within the Offshore Energy sector. Siva has held notable positions including Marie-Curie Research Fellow at Chalmers University of Technology and at Plaxis BV, focusing on the modeling of clay behavior under cyclic loading and developing constitutive models for clay and peat. Siva's academic journey includes a PhD in Computational Geomechanics from the University of Strathclyde, an MEng in Earthquake Engineering from The University of Tokyo, and a BSc.Eng (Hons) in Civil Engineering from the University of Peradeniya. Additionally, Siva has contributed to various research roles and projects, including freelance research on constitutive models and teaching positions in engineering.
