Steven Bayton

Steven Bayton is a Geotechnical Engineer at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute, specializing in consultancy and research within the Marine Geotechnics division since March 2019. Prior roles include Research Advisor for the GeoData and Technology department at NGI and Postdoctoral Researcher at The University of Sheffield, focusing on energy and climate resilience in geotechnics. Early career experience encompasses roles as a Graduate Civil Engineer at Atkins, gaining exposure to structural and geotechnical design, and as a Student Engineer at Costain, where skills in design tolerances, AutoCAD, and site management were developed. Steven Bayton earned a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering and a degree in Civil Engineering with French from The University of Sheffield, as well as a degree in civil engineering and urban planning from INSA Lyon.
