Scott Barkan has extensive work experience in the real estate and development industry. Scott is currently serving as the Senior Vice President at The NHP Foundation since June 2017. Prior to this, they worked at Beacon Development Group as a Senior Housing Developer from June 2006 to June 2017. Before that, they held the position of Senior Real Estate Developer at SouthEast Effective Development (SEED) from May 2004 to June 2006. Scott'searlier work experience includes serving as Special Assistant to the Deputy Mayor for Planning & Economic Development at Executive Office of Mayor Anthony Williams from June 2000 to January 2004.

Scott Barkan attended Washington University in St. Louis from 1989 to 1993, where they earned a B.A. in Political Science and Political Economy. Following this, they attended the Harvard Kennedy School from 1998 to 2000, completing a Master in Public Policy degree with a focus on Housing, Transportation, and Urban Development.
