Isla Abel

Isla Abel is an experienced professional in the biomedical field, currently serving as the Education And Training Manager at NHS Lothian since August 2022. Previously, Isla held multiple roles at NHS Grampian from May 2015 to August 2022, including Senior Biomedical Scientist and Specialist Biomedical Scientist. Isla began a career in the industry as a Biomedical Scientist and Biomedical Support Worker. Prior to this, Isla worked as an Ad Hoc Offshore Chemist and Laboratory Analyst at Intertek, where responsibilities included providing production chemistry support in the North Sea and conducting crude oil analysis. Isla possesses a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences from The University of Edinburgh, a Graduate Certificate from Ulster University, and completed 1.5 years of PhD studies in Neuroscience at Newcastle University, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from the University of Aberdeen.
