Sophie Primrose

Sophie Primrose is an experienced Healthcare Sciences Assistant Practitioner and Biomedical Support Worker at NHS Lothian's Department of Laboratory Medicine, specializing in Microbiology since May 2022. Responsibilities include sample preparation, inoculation, culture, and management of lab information systems. Prior to this role, Sophie served as a Sales Advisor and Stockroom Responsible at H&M from November 2017 to August 2022. Sophie's academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences with honors from The University of Edinburgh, where a research project focused on SynGAP isoforms and their implications in a rat model of haploinsufficiency. Sophie is currently advancing education through top-up modules for an MSc in Biomedical Sciences at London Metropolitan University, expected to complete in July 2024. Additional experience includes a shadowing opportunity with doctors in both public and private hospital settings with Global Pre-Meds in June 2017.
