Tom Lawton

Tom Lawton is a Consultant in Critical Care and Anaesthesia and the Head of Clinical AI at NHS, with a career spanning several leadership roles in healthcare and data analytics. They are currently the Clinical Lead for Artificial Intelligence at NHS England and serve as the Head of Clinical Analytics at the Improvement Academy. Additionally, Tom holds honorary positions as a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Bradford and as a Visiting Professor at the University of York. They previously directed the Yorkshire and Humber Secure Data Environment from 2022 to 2024. Tom has an ongoing academic connection with the University of Cambridge, where their studies began in 1998.
