Joel Vanderbush has extensive experience in animal conservation, education, and management, currently serving as the Curator of Conservation and Education at Niabi Zoo since April 2017. Previously, Joel held positions such as Executive Director and Zoologist at ANIMALIA, Inc., where efforts focused on promoting education and conservation through outreach programs. Joel's background also includes leadership as the Chief Entertainment Officer for Mystro's Entertainment DJ Service, providing mobile DJ services, and as a Science Teacher at MSD of Warren Township, instructing various science subjects and working with at-risk youth. Joel's earlier roles include Program Manager at the Indianapolis Zoo, where program development and volunteer training were key responsibilities, and Zookeeper at Potter Park Zoo, which involved animal husbandry and public education. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Education with a focus on Life Sciences from the University of Indianapolis and a Bachelor's degree in Zoology from Michigan State University.
