Melissa Schmidt currently serves as the VP of Product & Litigation at Niantic, Inc., where responsibilities include leading global litigation and enforcement, as well as managing the product and privacy teams. Prior to this role, Melissa held the position of Senior Director, Corporate Counsel at ServiceNow, overseeing global litigation and teams focused on trademarks and marketing. Melissa’s extensive legal experience also includes roles as a Senior Corporate Counsel and Director at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, concentrating on complex federal and state court litigations. Earlier in Melissa's career, roles included Research Associate at Chicago Appleseed Fund for Justice and Research Assistant at the American Bar Foundation. Melissa Schmidt earned a Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, from Duke University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude, with Departmental Honors in Political Science and History from Northwestern University.
