Roger Holten

Roger Holten has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Roger started their career as an Assistant Professor/Lecturer at Telemark University College from August 2000 to January 2001. Following this, they joined the Norwegian Food Safety Authority as a Senior Scientific Officer/Ecotoxicologist in April 2001 and served in this role until August 2015. In August 2015, they became a PhD Student at the NIBIO Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research and completed their PhD in May 2019. After that, they worked as a Scientific Researcher at NIBIO from January 2019 to March 2023. Currently, they hold the position of Acting Head of Research/Head of Department at NIBIO.

Roger Holten earned a Master of Science degree in Environmental microbiology/biotechnology from the Agricultural University of Norway (NLH/UMB) between 1995 and 2000. After that, they pursued further education and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Plant Sciences, with a specialization in Plant protection products, from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB) from 2015 to 2019.
