Kathy Shives

Kathy Shives, PMP, has extensive experience in project management, with a focus on commercial loans and mortgages. Kathy served as the National Director of Commercial Loans Mortgages at First Financial Leasing & Finance, Inc., where they worked with small businesses to secure commercial loans and resolve cash flow needs. Additionally, they supported the financial division of First Financial in determining qualification for SBA and MyMilitary loans. Prior to this, Kathy held positions such as Senior Technical Project Manager at SBPASC a Subsidiary of CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Senior Project Manager at Apex Data Solutions, LLC, Deputy Program Manager at Insignia Technology Services, LLC, and Project Manager at Intuitive.IT. Kathy also worked as a Project Manager Healthcare Solutions Group at Harris Corporation, where they managed the VA ICD-9 to ICD-10 upgrade project. Kathy has a strong background in the healthcare industry and is skilled in managing complex projects. Kathy is currently working as a Project Manager at NIC Inc. and previously worked as a Project Management Consultant at Elentic Technology Solutions.

Kathy Shives, PMP, has a strong educational background in project management and healthcare technologies. Kathy obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a focus on Project Management from Capella University, where they studied from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, Kathy earned an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Healthcare Technologies from Allegany College of Maryland.

In addition to their formal education, Kathy Shives holds several certifications in the field of project management. Kathy is a certified Scrum Product Owner (SPOC) and has obtained the Scrum Fundamentals Certified (SFC) designation from SCRUMstudy - Accreditation Body for Scrum and Agile. Kathy also achieved the Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification from the Scrum Alliance.

Furthermore, Kathy is a Project Management Professional (PMP) certified by the PMI - Project Management Institute. To enhance their teaching and training skills, Kathy has acquired the CompTIA CTT (Certified Technical Trainer) and CTT+ (Certified Technical Trainer) certifications from CompTIA, which demonstrate their ability to effectively deliver technical training. These certifications were obtained in the years 2000 and 2001, respectively.
