Rod Hartzell has over 20 years of work experience in the software development field. Rod started their career as a Software Engineer at Infospace in 2000 and worked there until 2004. From 2004 to 2006, they served as an IT Systems Engineer at Cloud County Community College. Rod then joined The Boeing Company as a Software Engineer from 2006 to 2007. In 2007, they joined Ad Astra Information Systems as a Software Engineer. In 2009, they joined Hartzell Technologies Inc. as the Owner until November 2009. In the same year, they also worked as a Software Architect at Tyler Technologies and NIC Inc. Rod is highly skilled in systems design, implementation, and the enforcement of best practices in software development. Rod is constantly striving to advance the state of the art and apply innovative ideas in their work.

Rod Hartzell obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington, where they studied from 1988 to 1990. Prior to that, they pursued an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Engineering at South Seattle College from 1986 to 1988. In addition to their formal education, Rod Hartzell has also acquired several certifications throughout their career. These include Duolingo Spanish Fluency: Advanced (Estimated) from Duolingo, obtained in June 2016, ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) certification from ITIL Certified, obtained in March 2012, MCSE certification from Microsoft, obtained in January 2000, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate and Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS), both obtained in July 2020.
