Femke van Puymbrouck

Femke Van Puymbrouck is a skilled professional with a background in forensic biomedical sciences and extensive experience in forensic and research settings. Currently serving as a Reporting Officer and DNA Researcher at NICC/INCC since November 2020, Femke is involved in the Human Remains Origin(s) Multidisciplinary Evaluation project. Prior to this role, Femke worked as a Forensic Police Laborant with the Belgian Federal Police and completed a master's thesis on whole genome sequencing for rare diseases at UZ Leuven. Internships at various research and forensic institutions further enriched Femke's expertise, including work on latent fingerprints, epilepsy evaluations, and post-mortal heart ischemia detection. Femke holds a master's degree from KU Leuven and a bachelor's degree from Ghent University.
