Mary Ellen Large has extensive experience in the engineering and construction industries, currently serving as the Client Care Program Manager for Nicholson Construction since December 2021, focusing on client relationships and business development. Since May 2006, Large has held the position of Executive Director and Treasurer at the International Society for Micropiles, fostering global networking among micropile specialists and organizing workshops. As the President of geotechnica, s.a., Inc. since June 1998, Large has utilized over 18 years of professional engineering experience. Previously, Large served as the Director of Technical Activities for the Deep Foundations Institute from January 2010 to December 2021, managing technical committees and marketing initiatives. Earlier roles include Geotechnical Project Engineer at Gannett Fleming and Geotechnical Engineer at Paul C. Rizzo Associates. Large's foundational education includes a Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering from Cornell University and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland.
