Yasamin (Zahra) Haghpanah, MASc has worked in various roles since 2012. From 2012 to 2015, they were a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Tehran. From 2015 to 2018, they were a Biomedical Engineer Researcher at Kosar Company. During their time at the University of Waterloo from 2018 to 2022, they held the roles of Research Assistant, Laboratory Assistant, Graduate Teaching Assistant, and Graduate Research Assistant. In their Graduate Research Assistant role, they developed protocols to investigate the interaction of osteoblasts and osteoclasts with novel 3D-printed nanocomposites in-vitro, designed a study for in-vitro evaluation of osteoclast compatibility and resorption of advanced 3D-printed nanocomposite substrates, trained and mentored two URAs, and maintained cell culture for mouse pre-osteoblast MC3T3-E1 and RAW 264. From 2022 onwards, they are an Engineer II, Systems Integration at Nicoya.

Yasamin (Zahra) Haghpanah has a comprehensive educational history. Yasamin (Zahra) obtained their Bachelor of Applied Science in Materials Science and Engineering from Shiraz University in 2012. Yasamin (Zahra) then completed their Master of Applied Science in Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Tehran in 2015. Currently, they are pursuing their Master of Applied Science in Biomedical Engineering and Tissue Engineering at the University of Waterloo, which they are expected to complete in 2022. In addition to their educational qualifications, they have obtained several certifications, including the First Symposium on Engineering and Clinical Approaches in Total Hip Arthroplasty from the University of Tehran in 2015, the Patent Workshop from the 5th International Congress on Nanoscience & Nanotechnology in 2014, the Welding Inspection Seminar from PKS Company in 2011, and the Elementary ABAQUS/CAE engineering software from Fanavaran Bartar Educational Institute in 2010.
