Joseph Fortson

Joseph Fortson is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in government relations and policy advisory roles. Currently serving as Senior Vice President at Nielsen since September 2014, Joseph leads global government relations efforts. Prior to this, Joseph held significant positions at Apple as a Senior Policy Advisor and Lobbyist from November 2005 to August 2014, and at the House Committee on Energy and Commerce as Counsel from December 2002 to November 2005. Early career roles include Legislative Counsel to Congressman Van Hilleary, Legislative Fellow for Congresswoman Kay Granger, Assistant Counsel for Congressman Sonny Bono, and Associate at the Law Offices of James Barber. Joseph's foundational experiences include a law clerk position for Federal District Court Judge Joe Fish and a delivery driver role at Anheuser-Busch. Joseph holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government Affairs and International Relations from the University of Virginia and a Doctor of Law from The University of Texas at Austin.
