Andrea Divine is currently a Senior Specialist at the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching, a role held since March 2023. Previously, Andrea served as a Master Teacher in the Knox County R1 School District from June 2014 to June 2021, focusing on professional development and co-teaching in 4th and 5th grade classrooms. Additional experience includes working as a TN Academic Facilitator for the Tennessee Department of Education and a Community Schools Lead Teacher for Greater Schools Partnership, where responsibilities included developing lesson plans and managing grant funding. Andrea also has a background in training educators on the TEAM/TAP rubric and Common Core standards, with earlier roles as a Professional Development Specialist and Mentor Teacher. Andrea began a teaching career at Pond Gap Elementary, teaching 2nd and 3rd grade, and previously managed the pool at St. Mary's Health and Fitness Center. Andrea holds a Bachelor of Education in K-8 Human Learning from Tennessee Technological University.
