Courtney Rayburn is an experienced education professional with a strong background in educator effectiveness and instructional leadership. Currently serving as a Senior Specialist at the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching since November 2020, Courtney previously held the role of Assistant Director of Educator Effectiveness at the Tennessee Department of Education, where responsibilities included implementing educator evaluation models, producing data-based reports, and managing certification training. Additional experience includes positions as TEAM Coordinator and Instructional Coach at the Tennessee Department of Education and Metro Nashville Public Schools, respectively. Courtney's teaching career includes roles as a Spanish teacher at Central Magnet School and John F. Kennedy Middle School, both achieving outstanding evaluation ratings and pass rates. Holding a Master of Public Policy in Education from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor's degree in Spanish Language Teacher Education from Tennessee State University, Courtney is dedicated to school reform, professional development, and data analysis to enhance student outcomes.
