Leke Ogunbambo

Mr Ogunbambo is a 1983 graduate of law of the University of Lagos, who was called to the Nigerian Bar, after the one year professional training at the Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos and he was enrolled as a solicitor and advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1984.

Mr Ogunbambo had brief stint in legal practice before he joined the insurance industry and was employed as a graduate trainee at the then National Insurance Corporation of Nigeria in 1987. He rose through the ranks to attain the position of Assistant General Manager Legal/Secretarial before the privatisation of the Corporation in 2005. The core investor retained his services and he worked in the same capacity in the Company and its subsidiary company, NICON Properties Limited, and was appointed the Company Secretary/Legal Adviser during the brief regulatory intervention by the National Insurance Commission.

Mr Ogunbambo joined the services of Industrial & General Insurance Plc in 2008 as Deputy Director, Legal Services, which he left to join the services of Niger Insurance Plc in October 2010 as the pioneer Head of Compliance, with Enterprise Risk Management in the tow later. He was appointed the Head, Legal and Compliance in October 2019.

Mr Ogunbambo has within the time span spent in the insurance industry held the positions of Assistant Company Secretary/Legal Adviser of NICON Trustees Limited; Deputy Company Secretary/Legal Adviser of NICON Hotels Limited, the owners of the then NICON Noga Hilton Hotel Abuja, (now Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja); Director NICON PFA Limited; Alternate Director in Broking House Limited; Company Secretary of Industrial & General Insurance Company (Ghana) Limited; Company Secretary IGI Life Assurance Ghana Limited; Company Secretary IGI Gamstar Insurance Company Limited The Gambia; and Acting Company Secretary International Health Management Services Limited. He had supervisory roles for all legal and some secretarial matters of other international subsidiaries of IGI Plc, where he also had the supervision of the Legal and Secretarial Department of the Company and all its local subsidiary and associated companies.

Mr Ogunbambo has attended many professional trainings locally and internationally. He is a member of the Risk, Audit and Compliance Committee of the Nigerian Insurers Association.
