Ian Leutenegger

Flight Test Engineer at Nightingale Security

Ian Leutenegger is a flight test engineer at Nightingale Security. Ian previously worked as a project manager at AIAA, conducting research on the avionics of fully autonomous quadcopter systems. Ian is currently optimizing the system configuration to have the highest efficiency possible while maintaining all key flight characteristics. Ian is also designing a reliable and reusable payload mechanism to deliver up to 6 nodes. The drone is set to launch in March 2022. Before working at AIAA, Ian was the treasurer of the Rocket Club and a waiter at Bud's Pub and Grill.

Ian Leutenegger has a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering from San Jose State University. Ian also has a GED from Dixon High School. Ian has certification from the Tripoli Rocketry Association in Level 1 High Power Rocketry and certification from the Federal Aviation Administration in Part 107 Certificated Commercial Drone Pilot.
