Scott McIlnay

Scott McIlnay, APR, is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in public affairs and media operations, currently serving as the Senior Manager of Communication and Outreach at Nightwing since April 2024. Prior to this role, McIlnay held multiple positions at Raytheon focusing on Cyber Business Communications from August 2021 to April 2024, and excelled at the Defense Media Activity from December 2018 to April 2021 as the Acting Director for both CONUS and DoD Production. McIlnay also contributed significantly to the Department of the Navy's Chief of Information's Office from August 2014 to December 2018, providing public affairs support to the Under Secretary of the Navy, and previously served on the Public Affairs Staff of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Early career experiences include positions within the U.S. Navy and instructional roles at the Defense Information School. McIlnay holds advanced degrees in Mass Communications and Security Studies from San Diego State University and the U.S. Naval War College, respectively, and possesses a strong foundation in journalism and political science from Boston University.
