Diya Bandyopadhyay

Diya Bandyopadhyay serves as the Global Director of Materials Product Engineering, Innovation and Research at Nike, overseeing a team dedicated to material innovation and foundational research within the Air Manufacturing Innovation organization since June 2014. In addition, Diya acts as the Executive Sponsor for the Women of AirMI Employee Resource Group and has previously held roles including Principal Researcher and Lead Materials Researcher, where strategic leadership, materials innovation, and technical vendor management were key achievements. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Scientist at BASF, where Diya co-invented multiple patented solutions, and a PhD in Polymer Science and Engineering from The University of Akron, complemented by internships that focused on polymer characterization and synthesis.
