Marije Barel

Marije Barel is a mechanical engineer with extensive experience in various roles within the engineering and design sectors. Currently employed at Nikhef as a mechanical engineer since March 2023, Marije is responsible for developing diverse systems. In December 2018, Marije founded MyBesign, an illustration and graphic design business inspired by artistic influences from Escher and classic storybooks. Prior to this, Marije worked as a research technician at HFML and FELIX Laboratory and contributed to the construction of a new ion beam line at DIFFER. Additional experience includes roles in mechanical design and research, student assistance at TU Delft, and involvement in organizing camps for underprivileged children through scouting initiatives. Marije holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Delft University of Technology, along with a Bachelor of Science in the same field.
