Patrick Werneke

Patrick Werneke currently serves as the Head of the Engineering Department for the Einstein Telescope Preparatory Phase, overseeing all aspects of system design, procurement, installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and eventual dismantling. With a strong background in mechanical technology, Patrick has been a Senior Engineer and Groupleader at Nikhef since 2008, leading a team responsible for developing mechanical solutions for international projects. Previous experience includes roles as ATLAS SCT End Cap Project Engineer at CERN, and various positions at NIKHEF, including Project Coordinator, Project Engineer, and Design Engineer. Patrick’s earlier career includes project management at Adprotech Holland BV. Academic qualifications include degrees in Aeronautical Engineering, Business Administration, and General Management from respected institutions such as Inholland University of Applied Sciences, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, and the University of Groningen.
