Kai Burfeind

Kai Burfeind is a seasoned mechanical engineer with extensive experience in various engineering roles, currently serving as a Senior Model Integration Engineer at Nikon SLM Solutions since July 2020, focused on the development and integration of advanced 3D Metal Additive Manufacturing machines for diverse international clients across multiple industries. Previously, Kai held senior positions at Körber Service GmbH and Hauni Primary GmbH, where responsibilities included design and development of specialized machinery and the assistance of cross-company development in tobacco heating products. Early career experience at SMB GmbH & Co. KG involved holistic design of turnkey conveyor and handling systems for the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors. With a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, Kai boasts a strong technical background, proficiency in SolidWorks and Siemens NX, and several registered patents.
