Jacob Tews

Jacob Tews has a diverse work experience in the field of music. Jacob is currently working as a Business Intelligence Analyst at NIM Group since 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Assistant Professor of Strings at Christopher Newport University from 2019 to 2022. Before that, they worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Music and Music Director of Wartburg-Community Symphony Orchestra at Wartburg College from 2015 to 2019. Jacob also has experience as a Lecturer in Viola and Music Theory at Southern Illinois University from 2011 to 2015, and as a Visiting Lecturer in Viola and Music Theory at the same institution in 2011. Jacob Tews has also served as an Associate Principal Viola at Paducah Symphony Orchestra from 2011 to 2015. Earlier in their career, they worked at Minnesota Orchestra as a Rental Events Assistant/Audience Services Supervisor from 2008 to 2011. Jacob also worked as a Teaching Assistant/Instructor of Record at the University of Minnesota from 2008 to 2011. Jacob Tews has been a member of the American Viola Society since 2012.

Jacob Tews has a Bachelor of Music degree in Viola Performance from the University of Minnesota. Jacob continued their education at the same university and obtained a Master of Music degree in Viola Performance. Jacob further pursued their studies at the University of Minnesota, where they completed a Doctor of Musical Arts degree with a primary focus on Viola Performance and a secondary emphasis on Music Theory.
