Duncan Brindley

Duncan Brindley has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Duncan began their career at IBM, where they served in various finance and planning positions, including roles as a Financial Analyst and a Senior Finance & Planning Analyst. In these roles, they were responsible for financial planning, reporting, and forecasting for the European leasing business. Duncan also managed a team in charge of the used mainframe business, implementing strategies that resulted in increased profitability.

Following their tenure at IBM, Brindley worked as an Independent Management Consultant for Apple Europe, where they undertook various short-term projects focused on contracts, controls, and project management. Duncan was also contracted to lead the response to a contracts management audit and designed and implemented a new contracts management system.

Brindley then joined Videojuicer Ltd, a start-up online video platform, as the Director of Operations and CFO. Duncan was responsible for all financial aspects of the company, including cash and bank management, accounts receivable and payable, tax reporting, and fundraising efforts. Duncan played a key role in raising funds and delivering due diligence responses.

After their time at Videojuicer, Brindley worked as an independent consultant and interim manager, providing CFO as a Service (CFOaaS) to various companies. Duncan then joined Nine23 Ltd as a CFO, initially on a consultancy basis, where they assessed the company's financial control posture. Duncan later took on a more hands-on role, providing day-to-day cash management support and financial planning. Duncan also strengthened the finance function by recruiting new accountants and auditors and led R&D tax credit work.

Throughout their career, Brindley has demonstrated a strong financial acumen and the ability to drive positive changes in financial management processes.

Duncan Brindley holds a BSc in Managerial & Administrative Studies from Aston University and an MBA in Finance from Cass Business School.
