Carl Hickton has a diverse work experience in the field of software development and web services. Carl started their career as a Web Administrator at car.co.nz in 2001 and later worked as a Web Developer at LemonCheck. At both companies, they contributed to the development of various website features and database management systems.
In 2003, Carl joined Face as a Web Developer, where they worked on financial and insurance systems using the in-house web markup language called DART. Carl then joined Massey University as a Senior Consultant for Managed Student Labs, where they significantly reduced deployment time for computer labs.
Moving forward, Carl worked at Intergen as a Support Developer in Managed Services, where they dealt with client-facing roles and performed maintenance tasks for various applications. Carl later became a Senior .NET Developer at Intergen and built the SMART software used by the New Zealand Police.
In 2013, Carl joined Quantum IT as a Software Developer and contributed to their projects. Carl currently holds the position of Principal Engineer at Nintex, where they initially worked as a Senior Developer on Nintex Forms for Office 365. Carl then switched teams to work on creating a new Forms Offering using Angular 5.
Carl Hickton has a Certificate in Networking from UCOL, obtained in 2002, and a Certificate for Advanced Users from UCOL, obtained in 2001. Carl also holds additional certifications from Microsoft, including "70-290, Managing and Maintaining a Windows Server 2003 Environment," "70-291, Implementing, Managing, and Maintaining a Windows Server 2003 Network Infrastructure," and "70-431, TS: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 – Implementation and Maintenance," all obtained in 2007.
