Merve Tomečková Öztoprak is a dedicated researcher and PhD student at NIOZ Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research since January 2020. With a strong academic foundation including multiple Master's degrees in Evolutionary Biology and Ecology from Erasmus Mundus and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Merve has gained extensive research experience across institutions such as Caltech and The Australian National University. Previous roles included graduate student researcher positions focusing on isotope geochemistry and paleobiogeochemistry, as well as internships in ecotoxicology and astrobiology, where Merve developed proficiency in laboratory techniques and environmental studies.
