Lin Lin is a Senior Staff Data Scientist at Waymo, specializing in safety evaluation for self-driving vehicles since May 2018. Previously, Lin served as a Senior Data Scientist and team lead at Google from 2016 to May 2018, addressing complex challenges related to account security and disinformation through quantitative analytics. Lin's earlier experience includes a role as a Senior Scientific Engineering Associate at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, focusing on data analytics for energy efficiency standards, and a Research Assistant position at Northwestern University, concentrating on consumer choice modeling. Additionally, Lin has interned at PARC, Travelers, DaimlerChrysler, and Shanghai BMW, gaining valuable insights into risks, driving behavior data analysis, and vehicle market compliance. Lin holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University and a Bachelor’s degree in Vehicle Engineering from Tsinghua University.
