Richard String is a seasoned professional in technical project management with extensive experience in the aviation sector. Currently serving as a Technical Project Manager at NIRA INC since February 2022, Richard provides strategic planning and project management support to a US Government organization focused on the modernization of critical national assets. Previously, Richard held various titles at the Federal Aviation Administration from March 1988 until retirement in July 2019, including Supervisory Engineer and Implementation Manager for EnRoute Facilities, where responsibilities included managing engineering teams and overseeing complex modernization projects for Air Traffic Control Centers. Richard also acted as a NAS On-Site Coordinator for the renovation of the Washington ARTCC and has a solid foundation in civil engineering, holding a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Tech. Additionally, Richard is the President of SAFE Consultants LLC, starting in August 2021.
