David Michael has an extensive work experience in the life sciences and high technology industries. David has been a Managing Partner at Anzu Partners, a venture capital firm, since 2015. In 2020, they joined the Board of Directors at InterVenn Biosciences, a company pioneering a platform that harnesses glycoproteomic biomarkers for early disease detection. David also joined the Board of Directors at ImmunoScape, a company developing TCR-T cell therapies, and BioSkryb Genomics, a company pioneering genomic and transcriptomic amplification technology for single cell genomics. In 2016, they joined the Board of Directors at Niron Magnetics, a company developing permanent magnets, and Terapore Technologies, a company pioneering nanofiltration technology for biologics drug manufacturing. Additionally, they joined the Board of Directors at Pivotal Systems, a firm providing monitoring and process control technology for the semiconductor manufacturing industry, and NUBURU Inc., a company developing next-generation industrial lasers. In 2019, they also became a Professor of Practice at UC San Diego.
David Michael attended Stanford University from 1990 to 1992, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus on leadership, technology, entrepreneurship, and was a recipient of the Arbuckle Award. David attended Harvard University from 1983 to 1987, where they earned a BA in Economics. In 1989 to 1990, they were a Rotary Scholar at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where they studied Chinese Studies.
