Opeoluwa Ogundipe is an experienced professional in agricultural finance and investment, currently serving as Principal Manager at NIRSAL Connect since March 2017, where responsibilities include coordinating a team of finance experts and guiding retail finance activities. Previously held positions include Team Lead in Insurance and Retail Finance, Senior Manager for Agric Value Chain Finance and Investment at NIRSAL Connect, and a Letter of Credit Officer at First City Monument Bank Limited. Opeoluwa also has entrepreneurial experience as the Business Owner of Accendo International Limited, achieving significant export growth, and worked as a Relationship Manager at Ecobank Nigeria, overseeing public sector accounts. NIRSAL Connect
The Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing system for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL) was launched in 2011 and incorporated in 2013 by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as a dynamic, holistic USD500 Million public-private initiative to catalyse the flow of finance and investments into fixed agricultural value chains. NIRSAL seeks to address the causes of low funding levels in the agriculture sector, including lack of understanding of the sector, perceived high risks, complex credit assessment processes/procedures, and high transaction costs.
