Tanner Songkakul is an experienced electrical engineering professional currently serving as the Electrical Engineering R&D Manager and Lead Research Engineer at NIRSense Inc since August 2022, where expertise lies in the development of wearable biosensing systems and digital health hardware. Prior to this role, Tanner was a Graduate Research Assistant at North Carolina State University from August 2017 to July 2022, focusing on wireless biosensing technologies for patient diagnostics and environmental monitoring, alongside significant contributions in analog/digital hardware design and signal processing. Tanner's experience also includes product development engineering for Procyrion, Inc., where Tanner designed and tested systems for a circulatory support device, and earlier work in research and product development roles that involved deep brain stimulation studies and medical device innovation. Tanner holds a PhD and MS in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from North Carolina State University and a BS in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Rice University.
