Michael Luhrs

Michael Luhrs is an experienced executive currently serving as the EVP Risk, Strategy and Chief Commercial Officer at NiSource since March 2023. Prior to this role, Michael was the SVP Customer Experience & Strategy at Alliant Energy from April 2022 to March 2023, focusing on customer experience strategy through data-driven analytics. Michael held various leadership positions at Duke Energy Corporation from 2012 to 2022, including VP Integrated Grid Strategy & Solutions and VP Market Strategy & Solutions, where responsibilities included integrating advanced technologies and overseeing significant P&L operations. Previous experience at Progress Energy involved multiple managerial roles, including General Manager Energy Supply Finance and Audit Manager, with a focus on financial oversight and resource planning. Michael holds a BS in Chemical Engineering and dual BA degrees in Management: Finance and Economics from North Carolina State University.
