Melody Jerenz has a diverse work experience. Melody started at the Nisqually Red Wind Casino in 2002 as a Table Games employee. From there, they moved up to become a Compliance Specialist, where they handled tasks such as Title 31 training, workman's compensation claims, risk management, drafting policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with gaming laws. Jerenz then advanced to become a Risk and Compliance Manager, where their responsibilities expanded to include overseeing a safety program, implementing internal controls, and maintaining compliance with state and federal gaming laws. Most recently, they held the position of Compliance Director at the casino, where they had oversight of various operational departments, compliance officers, and risk management. In 2018, Jerenz also served as a Tribal Enterprises & Gaming Management Professor at Tacoma Community College.

Melody Jerenz attended the University of Phoenix from 2010 to 2013, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business (BSB) with a concentration in Accounting and Business/Management. In addition to their degree, Melody also holds several certifications. In November 2014, they became a Certified HIPAA Professional. In the same month, they obtained their Washington State Food Worker Card from the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department. Furthermore, Melody obtained their Tribal Human Resources Professional (THRP) certification from the Falmouth Institute in December 2016.
