Emil Sims has over two decades of experience in the automotive industry, currently serving as Senior Manager of Restraints Engineering at Nissan Motor Corporation since May 2004, overseeing the engineering of safety features including seat belts and airbags for multiple North American models. Prior roles at Nissan included Senior Manager positions in Seat Engineering and Vehicle Program Management, focusing on design and quality of seats, as well as program management for key vehicles like the 2013 Nissan Altima. Prior to Nissan, Emil held various positions at Ford Motor Company from February 1992 to April 2004, including Section Manager for Vehicle Integration, where responsibilities encompassed test management and vehicle attribute tradeoff for the Ford Explorer. Emil holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
