Mia Hyde

Director of Comprehensive Educational Resources at Niswonger Foundation

Dr. Mia Hyde serves as the Director of Comprehensive Educational Resources (CER). CER is an educational consortium that currently serves twenty-four school districts in Northeast Tennessee and across the state. CER is a collaboration between these twenty-four districts and the Niswonger Foundation that reaches approximately 118,000 students. Prior to this, Dr. Hyde worked for the Tennessee Department of Education from 2013-2020 as a regional director and as the coordinator of reading content and resources.

Mia earned her B.A. from Emory & Henry College after which she became an elementary teacher. She earned her M.A. in Reading from Rider University and then proceeded to serve as a reading specialist for over 15 years in school districts around the First TN region. She became the district reading specialist for Greeneville City Schools in 2006 where she focused on reading instruction and interventions at a district level. Dr. Hyde earned her Ed.D from East Tennessee State University in Educational Leadership in 2020.
