Roeland Menger

Roeland Menger has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. Roeland started their career as a Research Intern and Business Development in Van Oord Offshore Wind Projects in 2014. From 2014-2017, they founded and led Finchy Media, a mobile application connecting art lovers and artists. In 2016, they worked as a Structured Finance Consultant at RebelGroup, specializing in renewable energy projects. Roeland also served as a Financial Advisor and Advisory Board Member at Masar Smart Energy from 2016-2018.

In 2017, Roeland joined Off.Grid:Electric as part of their Corporate Finance team, where they focused on debt structuring, partnerships, and equity raises. During their tenure, the company raised over $200 million in funding and expanded its reach to over 1 million customers in 5 countries in Africa.

From 2019-2021, they worked as an Investment Manager at EDF International, focusing on equity investments and financial structuring of greenfield and brownfield energy projects in sub-Saharan Africa, South-East Asia, and the Middle-East.

In 2021, Roeland served as a CFO-as-a-service for various scale-ups, providing financial structuring, raising growth capital, and supporting strategic acquisitions.

In 2022, they worked as the Chief Financial Officer at BAGTAG, a company specializing in digital baggage solutions. Roeland also held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Aqre Group, where they drove regenerative agriculture through vertically integrated value chains.

Currently, Roeland is the Head of Capital & Investor Relations at Nithio, an AI-driven platform for clean energy investment. Their responsibilities include scaling and structuring existing funds and leading the setup of new funds.

Roeland Menger obtained a Master's Degree in Energy Science from Utrecht University, where they studied from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental & Infrastructure Planning from the University of Groningen, attending from 2008 to 2013. Roeland completed their high school education at Praedinius Gymnasium from 2001 to 2007. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including the Cohort 2021 from Fresh Ventures Studio in November 2021, the FAST Financial Modelling and FAST Project Finance Modelling from F1F9 in March 2016, and the EIT Climate-KIC Master Label from Climate-KIC in November 2015.
