Yuning Chen

Yuning Chen currently serves as a Senior Staff Laser Process Development Engineer at Confluent Medical Technologies since June 2022. Previously, Yuning worked as a Senior Laser Engineer at Cutera, Inc. from September 2018 to June 2022 and was a Graduate Research Assistant at Stony Brook University from August 2012 to August 2018. Notable scientific achievements include the invention of a Cavity-Enhanced Ultrafast Spectrometer, leading to a detection limit significantly surpassing state-of-the-art technology, and the development of a 10 W Yb: fiber frequency comb laser. Yuning demonstrated expertise in nonlinear optics through the construction of various frequency conversion lasers and showcased mechanical engineering skills by designing innovative solutions to complex problems. Additionally, effective communication and collaboration skills were evident through presentations at conferences and training junior personnel. Yuning holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Physical Chemistry from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Beijing Normal University.
