Charlie McCanless

Charlie McCanless is an experienced swimming coach and administrator with a diverse background in aquatic sports and management. Currently serving as the National Group Lead Coach at Nitro Swimming and as the Head Coach and Director of Competitive Aquatics at Blues Aquatics Asheville, Charlie has built a strong reputation in coaching and team development. Prior roles include Head Coach at Smoky Mountain Aquatic Club and Swim Coach/Office Administrator at Charles River Aquatics, where responsibilities ranged from coaching entry-level swimmers to administrative tasks. Previous experiences also include management and coaching roles at Providence Plantation Racquet and Swim Club and Greenville Country Club, reflecting a solid foundation in both coaching and facility management. Charlie holds degrees in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music and History from East Carolina University.
