Celine Cattoen-Gilbert

Hydrological Forecasting Scientist at NIWA

Celine Cattoen-Gilbert is a hydrological forecasting scientist at NIWA, with expertise in flow and flood forecasting, rainfall-runoff modelling, and uncertainty quantification. Celine leads the Forecasting Flood Hazards and inundation research project. Previously, Celine served as a Supercomputing Services and Support Consultant at the University of Canterbury, advising on high-performance computing techniques. A postdoctoral fellow at the University of Alberta, Celine conducted research in general relativity and numerical relativity, optimizing algorithms for black hole simulations. Celine also has teaching experience at Victoria University of Wellington and has held engineering internships, contributing to various modeling projects in cryogenics and biological systems. Celine's academic credentials include a PhD and MSc in Mathematics from Victoria University of Wellington and an MSc in Mathematical and Modelling Engineering from INSA Toulouse.
