David Wood

David Wood is a Water Quality Scientist at NIWA since July 2021, bringing extensive experience from previous roles at the Institute of Environmental Science and Research Ltd (ESR) where responsibilities included Operations Researcher, Data Scientist, and Bioinformatics and Statistics Lead from March 2005 to June 2021. Prior to ESR, David served as a Senior Scientific Officer and Higher Scientific Officer at DWP from 1999 to 2005, and as a Scientific Officer at the Department of Social Security from 1998 to 1999. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Mineral Physics from The University of Manchester and various postgraduate degrees from the University of Canterbury, along with a visiting student experience at the University of Cambridge.
