Neill Barr

Neill Barr is a Principal Technician and Marine Ecologist at the National Institute for Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA), with experience dating back to December 2007. Prior to this role, Neill Barr worked as an industrial electrician and electronics engineer from 1984 until 2015. Neill Barr studied at the University of Auckland from 2001 to 2007, focusing on research related to the use of seaweeds as indicators of marine pollution and nitrogen enrichment, ultimately earning a BSc, MSc, and PhD in Marine and Environmental Science. Neill Barr initially worked as an electrician while pursuing academic studies, showcasing a blend of practical and theoretical expertise in the marine ecology field.
