Valerio Montemezzani

Valerio Montemezzani is an experienced professional with a diverse background in water quality, project management, and biotechnology. Currently serving as a Water Quality Technician at NIWA since May 2017, Montemezzani has previously held the position of Assistant Project Manager at Raglan Roast Ltd and worked as a PhD candidate at NIWA in collaboration with Waikato University, focusing on wastewater treatment and invertebrate dynamics. Montemezzani’s experience also includes an internship at NIWA investigating ultrasound cavitation for wastewater sterilization, management roles at Kimbilio Lodge and Kimbilio Diving Center, and technical sales positions in packaging and automation systems. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Biology from The University of Waikato, a Master’s in Food Biotechnology from Wageningen University & Research, and a Master’s in Food Science and Technology from Università degli Studi di Milano.
