Nikolaas Vles has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Nikolaas served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at NIZO from September 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of CEO at Prolactal GmbH from January 2020 to September 2023. Nikolaas also worked at ICL Group from January 2020 to September 2023, fulfilling the role of SVP and being a part of the Phosphate & Food Specialties Leadership Team. Nikolaas was also the Chairman of the Supervisory Board ICL at IP-Terneuzen from May 2022 to August 2023. Before that, they were the Chief Executive Officer at NutriDutch from March 2019 to December 2019. Nikolaas joined ICL Food Specialties in 2014 and held various roles, including VP of Sales and Marketing Dairy Global and M&A Legal Counsel Global. Prior to that, they worked at Stibbe as a Senior Associate and an Associate in the London office, from February 2007 to June 2014. Nikolaas also had a secondment at Herbert Smith Freehills Moscow office from July 2011 to February 2012.
Nikolaas Vles has a diverse education history. In 1994, they began their academic journey at Gemeentelijk Gymnasium Hilversum, where they completed their secondary education. Moving forward, they attended the University of Amsterdam from 2001 to 2006, earning a Master's degree in Civil Law. In 2004 and 2005, they went on an Erasmus exchange program at the University of Essex. Subsequently, in 2006, they attended the Columbia Summer School in Leiden (NL) at Columbia University. To further enhance their knowledge and skills, Nikolaas pursued executive education at renowned institutions. In 2010, they participated in the "Highlights of MBA" Executive Education program at INSEAD. Additionally, in 2015, they attended the London Business School for the M&A Executive Education. Lastly, in 2014, they completed a post-graduate program in Corporate Law at the Grotius Academy.
